TMJ TREATMENT
Here at Haberfield Dental Practice, we always aim to offer our patients with the best possible solutions and outcomes for our oral health treatments and services.

TMJ is a common issue that many of our patients face, therefore we are now introducing an extended service with our very own Remedial Therapist, Daniel Salameh to support our patients with pain relief and management in this area.
Daniel has a Bachelor of Sports & Exercise Science from Western Sydney University, and has studied at the Australian Institute of Fitness specialising in Sports and Remedial massage and is also registered with Massage & Myotherapy Australia.

Remedial therapy can help patients with TMJ of the jaw to ease pain, regain normal jaw movement, and lessen daily stress on the jaw.
Treatment and techniques can include;
- Deep tissue massage/myofascial release to upper neck, jaw and head muscles
- Dry needling to neck and jaw muscles
- Muscle energy technique (MET)
- Muscle release technique (MRT)
- Mobilisations
- Strengthening exercises
There will be both internal and external jaw soft tissue release to alleviate tightness, soreness and sensitivity in the area that maybe cause discomfort and/or headaches. The medial and lateral pterygoid muscles which are located inside the mouth are major jaw muscles. Releasing these muscles can alleviate much of your jaw pain.
Daniel’s availability is very limited, so if you are interested in this service, please feel free to chat with one of our dentists at your next visit or contact one of our friendly team members to discuss on 9797 8080.
